The option to hide updates is there for me and I use it to hide MS crapware, so it works as in prior versions. It has the little administrator shield on it, so you have to be an administrator to access it. If your PC is a company machine they may have set a policy that removes the option.

That's great and it looks like it's going to work. As soon as you get out of that screen and come back in, the update is there and checked again.
